Combating Arabic Antisemitism from Within: Powered by Native Arabic Language and Cultural Expertise
Join our mission to expose and combat antisemitic hate speech with precision and integrity, leveraging native expertise to create a safer digital world.
The Problem
There has been a significant rise in online Arabic antisemitic hate speech and direct calls for violence against Jews. Despite being reported repeatedly for over a year, many of these posts remain online. The issue lies in how this content uses simple linguistic and cultural tricks to bypass AI detection and algorithms. These posts often include explicit statements like “DEATH TO ISRAEL” and “JEWISH PIGS,” spreading hateful and dangerous rhetoric unchecked.
How it Works
HateWatch was launched to leverage human detection powered by native linguistic and cultural expertise. This approach enables us to identify the most extreme forms of hateful speech, as those creating such content often use deliberate tricks to evade detection. Our mission is to find, analyze, and expose antisemitic hate speech and calls for violence on leading social media platforms. We gather this content, provide detailed translations and analysis, and make it accessible here for anyone to review and report.
Why We Do It
As a Coptic Christian living in an Arab Muslic country, I’m familiar with the danger of extreme hate speech and how it can lead to real-life violence. Witnessing the recent surge in excessive hate speech and calls for violence against Jews has made it clear that social media is no longer a safe space—and this must change.
